What we are all about
-
Mission
To support our local community with a key focus on the development, inspiration and achievement of young people especially those at risk of offending and exploitation. We work through sports, music, mentoring projects and shared activities to engage young people and to support better lives and futures.
To begin in Tyne and Wear and to develop our work and support at local and regional level across the North-East
To be a force for change and transformation at personal, organisational and community levels; to support young people to achieve their potential, to inspire their ambition and to provide the opportunities they need to move forward, including towards education and employment.
-
Vision
Is of a world in which young people are helped to understand and achieve their full potential and are provided with the support and facilities to get there.
We want to challenge and offer alternatives to negative behaviours.
We want to see those that are most disadvantaged, by reason of background, poverty, personal circumstances or genetic inheritance, given the support they need to overcome those barriers and to be the best they can be,
We want to see organisations, across sectors and at every level, working together to invest in the future of our children and young people and to make them a priority.
We want to play a powerful part in achieving that vision and taking strong steps towards it.

Making a Difference
Hoodex is here to change lives, and by changing lives, to change our community, and by changing our community we aim to make the world a little bit better too.
Growing better lives
Helping young people recognise and achieve their potential is powerful and transforming for them - and for the communities they live in.
We work on a person centred model and approach and we work to align other services and organisations to support their ambitions and hopes for the future.
Collaboration and partnership is key to best outcomes and effective support. We work as a catalyst for co-operation and to ensure we complement what other agencies are doing in a young persons life. That includes, health and social service, police and education as well as other community groups.
